Thank You Note #1

In the spirit of Jimmy Fallon's thank you notes...

Cue the music...

Thank you, Man Who Lives Next Door, for driving an old pick-em-up truck that has no muffler to work each morning. This way I don't even have to open my eyes to look at the clock to know that it is 6:30.

{You can go to Youtube to see some of his thank you note segments if you don't get this. I recommend the Vancouver Olympics thank you notes. They might not all be very edifying, but I do get a chuckle.}

The Dreamy Desert

I dreamed of going back to Arizona for 15 months. It is no secret that we miss it. We miss nearly everything about it. So, I planned and dreamed and typed a list of things to do, things to see, things to buy, things to eat, and things to photograph. I savored the looking forward to it part of the vacation. I got the same jittery excitement and the I-can't-believe-I'm-actually-here feelings going to and doing and seeing the things that used to be a part of my ordinary, day-to-day life just under a year and a half ago as I got when I went to Alaska or NYC or used my passport for the first time in Costa Rica. We took a load of photos and did a load of things and pretty much just loaded our days full of fun.

Molly was...

a flower girl!

We made a trip back to the fabulous state of Arizona for Jenna (Aaron's cousin) and Ryan's wedding. We left at the perfect time to miss all of the below freezing temps here in OK and relish in the 70+ sunshine of the desert. I will post more of the trip later, but the highlight was Molly being a flower girl in an amazingly lovely wedding. This flower girl duo consisted of most likely the youngest flower girl (Molly) and the oldest flower girl (me-who technically was not a flower girl, just the transporter of the flower girl) walking down the grassy aisle of the gorgeous outdoor ceremony. Gorgeous is no exaggeration...the wedding had "Jenna and Ryan" flair, and it oozed with their love for each other and for God. The tiniest details were personal and clever and oh-so-fun to experience.
Molly held up to the long hours and mass of family, friends, and strangers...but there were definitely times the little 9-month old did not know what to think. This has to be one of the most precious photographs of the wedding: a glowing Jenna holding an upset Molly... an elated Ryan holding a displeased Brody (the ring bearer who just happens to be Molly's cousin) soon after the wedding.
What a night, what an event, what a special memory.

Woo Hoo!

Fiesta Bowl Champs!

12.31.10

Happy Birthday, Aaron.
Happy New Year to us all!
Thunder Vs. Hawks...We braved the frigid temperature Friday night to take Molly to her first professional sporting event. It was a hoot and holler! She charmed the folks sitting next to us, and she was such a trooper - making it through the entire game. Thunder won, and I am still enamored with Rumble.

Happy 2011!

1.1.11
"It's the end of a decade
in another ten years time
who can say what we'll find
what lies waiting down the line
at the end of eighty-nine (2019 or 2020)...
Happy New Year, Happy New Year..."
-ABBA

You already know how I feel about dates...I love today! 1.1.11 Just think how I'll feel on November 11th!
How do you feel? Did we just end a decade last night? Or last year? Hmmm...I admit it hurts my brain to think about it right now when I have the Sooners in a bowl game that I need to root for and new calendars to fill with birth dates...
So Happy New Year!
Happy 2011!
